CSU Stanislaus Budget Central

Budget Central has been created to provide the latest news about the CSU Stanislaus budget in light of the state’s severe cuts to the California State University system. The University has been required to make $13.5 million in cuts to its 2009-10 budget, including a $2.5 million reduction of part-time faculty and staff, and has reduced full-time equivalent enrolment to 6,800.  Click on the link above to learn more

What is college without memories? Many CSU Stanislaus students talk about their classes on the weekends, then turn around to talk about their weekends in class — and it doesn’t end there. Upon graduation, Warrior alumni share stories of their days in the quad or their nights at Mom’s with friends, family, co-workers, and fellow alums.

That’s because memories like those listed below are difficult to forget. For more memories, and to share some of your own, check out the University’s 50th Anniversary Web site at www.csustan.edu/50th.

“I'd take a thermos of coffee and hang out in the Library a lot studying. I made a lot of friends there and in the Dining Hall — students and staff at the University, and that was very special to me. I was able to totally concentrate that first year on being a good student.”
-John Lazar ’81, Political Science, Turlock Mayor

“One of my favorite recollections of my years at Stanislaus State was sharing Dr. Peppers with President Carl Gatlin. Dr. Gatlin and I arrived on campus the same year, 1969. At that time, Dr. Pepper was not as readily available as it is today. Gatlin was a Texan, and Dr. Pepper was created in Texas. He loved it and one day while in his office for a meeting (I was student body VP), he gave me one. Each time I enjoy a Dr. Pepper I think back to those conversations and smile.”
-Claudia Eastman ’74

“Some of my favorite memories from my Stanislaus State days are about Warrior Day. I remember President (Carl) Gatlin and administrators Joe Corbin and Bill Mason participating in the canoe races in the pond. The greased flagpole climb and tug-of-war were very popular events. The Elvin Bishop band and Tower of Power played in concert on campus. Professors like Rao Cherukuri and small classes made my college experience a great time of my life.”
-Marty Grynbaum ’72, Business Administration, Modesto Stockbroker and member of CSU Stanislaus President's Council, 1971-72 Associated Students President
