50th Memories
California State University, Stanislaus is celebrating 50 years of higher education excellence through 2010. A number of special events and programs will be held over the next two years to mark this half-century milestone.
Budget Central has been created to provide the latest news about the CSU Stanislaus budget in light of the state’s severe cuts to the California State University system. The University has been required to make $13.5 million in cuts to its 2009-10 budget, including a $2.5 million reduction of part-time faculty and staff, and has reduced full-time equivalent enrolment to 6,800. A single day of festivities is simply not enough to commemorate 50 years of excellence in higher education. The University’s Office of Alumni Affairs has a full slate of anniversary plans culminating in a full week of golden anniversary celebrations during Founders Week, which runs Sept. 14-18. Plans for the five-day event range from honorary events to fun gatherings and activities. These events include a Warrior Athletics Hall of Fame Reception, Young Alumni Mixer, Legacy Luncheon, and art show, not to mention a week of student activities in the Quad, College of the Arts performances, campus tours, reunions, and family fun and entertainment.For further details, and a complete list of 2010 events, go online to www.csustan.edu/50th.
