| For the fourth straight year, CSU Stanislaus was named to the Presidents Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll in February 2010 by the Corporation for National and Community Service. The University was one of seven CSU campuses named to the national Honor Roll out of a field of more than 500 colleges and universities that submitted applications. |

Budget Central has been created to provide the latest news about the CSU Stanislaus budget in light of the state’s severe cuts to the California State University system. The University has been required to make $13.5 million in cuts to its 2009-10 budget, including a $2.5 million reduction of part-time faculty and staff, and has reduced full-time equivalent enrolment to 6,800. The CSU Stanislaus Human Resources student team is picking up in 2010 where it left off in the previous year. After turning in one of its strongest performances ever to defeat its opponents by a wide margin and claim the 2009 Pacific Western Regional Human Resource Games Championships a In scoring its state title, CSU Stanislaus qualified two teams for the Pacific Western Regional HR Games Championships in Reno, a title it has claimed four out of the last six years. Coached by Dr. Ed Hernandez of the College of Business Administration faculty, the 2009 team of Tabitha Lilly of Victorville, Demetrios Zarefakis of Lodi, Kenny Brown of Turlock, and Melanie Haberlack of Bakersfield scored one of the largest ever margins of victory in beating out a field that included other top finishers Fresno State, University of Nevada Reno, and Boise State University. The HR Games competition features a “Jeopardy” style format that tests student competitors’ knowledge in labor and employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, health and safety, and employee selection. |







nd a co-national championship at Boise State University last spring, the CSU Stanislaus team started off 2010 with its fourth state title. The team of Tabitha Lily, Demetrios Zarefakis, Joe Aja, Kenny Brown, Amanda Fritz, Sarah Lamas, Maria Morales, and Crystal Gutierrez defeated rival powerhouse Fresno State University and nine other teams in March at CSU Bakersfield to win the 2010 California State Human Resource Games Championships.
