CSU Stanislaus Budget Central

Budget Central has been created to provide the latest news about the CSU Stanislaus budget in light of the state’s severe cuts to the California State University system. The University has been required to make $13.5 million in cuts to its 2009-10 budget, including a $2.5 million reduction of part-time faculty and staff, and has reduced full-time equivalent enrolment to 6,800.  Click on the link above to learn more

GIFT FROM FITZPATRICKS MERITS NEW NAME FOR ARENA PDF Print E-mail

Ed and Bertha Fitzpatrick, owners of Valley Lexus/Valley BMW in Modesto and other car dealerships in the Bay Area, contributed $500,000 to California State University, Stanislaus in 2009. As a result, the California State University Board of Trustees has approved, at the recommendation of University President Ham Shirvani, that the campus’ Warrior Arena be renamed the Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena.

A $10,000 donation from Gary and Marcia Nelson enabled CSU Stanislaus to start a new Masters of Science in Nursing. This spring, 14 nurses began this program which offers two tracks: Nursing Education and Gerontological Nursing.

Wayne Pierce, a longtime and beloved faculty member of CSU Stanislaus, had a vision of creating a native plant arboretum on campus. He imagined a winding pathway, along the south-side of the campus that college students, elementary and secondary students, and community members would visit to learn about the trees, shrubs, and herbs of the Central Valley and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
