Why Stockton?

In the mid-1970s, Stockton was identified as a tri-college satellite for CSU East Bay, Stanislaus, and Sacramento. It was an early effort in distance learning to serve geographical areas where travel to a main CSU campus was logistically difficult. Other CSU campuses have satellites (Palm Desert is a satellite for CSU San Bernardino); other CSUs (Channel Islands and San Marcos, for instance,) began as satellites of CSU Northridge and San Diego, respectively.

CSU Stanislaus Budget Central

Budget Central has been created to provide the latest news about the CSU Stanislaus budget in light of the state’s severe cuts to the California State University system. The University has been required to make $13.5 million in cuts to its 2009-10 budget, including a $2.5 million reduction of part-time faculty and staff, and has reduced full-time equivalent enrolment to 6,800.  Click on the link above to learn more

Vines Recap PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 16 August 2010 21:53

Those who appreciate wine know a good pairing. Which is why more than 330 people enjoyed the perfect union of wine and food samplings, engaging festivities, and good conversations back in March at the Office of Alumni Affairs inaugural Vines event held at California State University, Stanislaus.

The event successfully brought back a previous tradition of hosting a wine and cheese event to bring together University alumni, their families, and the public at large. The event also marked the beginning of several events to commemorate the University’s 50th Anniversary in 2010 leading up to Founders Week in September.

In addition to building alumni relations and encouraging active engagement in the rejuvenated alumni program, Vines also helped raise $16,500 for the Alumni Scholarship Fund.

View a video recapping the evening. And check out a list of sponsors and participating vendors who helped make the event a rousing success.

Next year’s Vines event is already in the planning process. The Office of Alumni Affairs hopes to see you there. Cheers!
